Three painters - Tre pittori - तीन चित्रकार

Guwahati, Assam, India: Three paintings in very different styles from three Asian painters at the Olympia International Art Festival and Symposium (OIAFS). The artists are - M. K. Puri from India, Tiarma Dame Ruth Sirait from Indonesia and Mon Thet from Myanmar.

गुवाहाटी, असम, भारतः ओलिम्पिया अंतर्राष्ट्रीय कला फैस्टिवल से एशिया के तीन चित्रकारों की तीन बिल्कुल भिन्न शैलियों की कलाकृतियाँ. चित्रकार हैं - भारत के महिन्दर पुरी, इन्डोनेशिया की डेम रुथ सिराइत तथा मयनमार के मॉन थेट.

Airport art - Arte al aeroporto - हवाईअड्डा कला

Today air travel has become common. Often people have to spend hours in the airports. If airports are beautiful places, they are not just a way to reach the destination, but become part of the journey's enjoyment. Today's images have art exhibitions from three Asian airports - from Bangkok, Delhi and Beijing.

आजकल हवाई जहाज़ से यात्रा करना आम बात हो गयी है और अक्सर लोग हवाई अड्डों पर घँटों बिताते हैं. अगर हवाई अड्डा सुन्दर जगह हो तो वह यात्रा का माध्यम ही नहीं, यात्रा के आनन्द का हिस्सा बन जाता है. आज की तस्वीरों में एशिया के तीन देशों से हवाई अड्डों में प्रदर्शित कला - बैन्काक, दिल्ली तथा बेजिन्ग से.

Oggi giorno tutti viaggiano con l'aereo. Spesso le persone sono costrette a passare delle ore negli aeroporti. Se gli aeroporti sono dei luoghi belli e piacevoli, non sono soltanto dei mezzi per arrivare alla destinazione, ma diventano parte della gioia del viaggio. Le immagini di oggi hanno mostre d'arte da tre aeroporti asiatici - da Bangkok, Delhi e Beijing.

Greek boy - Ragazzo greco - यवनी युवक

Vicenza, Italy: Ancient Greek art often shows nudes of sportive young men. Thus, when I had first seen the statue outside the windows, on the first floor of a house behind the Cathedral, I had started calling it the "the Greek boy". I tried to find out about this statue but was unsuccessful. Today's images have that Greek boy.

विचेन्ज़ा, इटलीः प्राचीन ग्रीस की कला में अक्सर खेलते हुए नग्न नवयुवक दिखते हैं. इसलिए जब मैंने पहली बार विचेन्ज़ा में केथेड्रल के पीछे एक भवन पर पहली मँज़िल की खिड़की के बाहर लगी मूर्ति को देखा तो  मेरे लिए उसका नाम "यवनी युवक" हो गया. बहुत खोज की पर इस मूर्ति के बारे में कुछ जान नहीं पाया. आज की तस्वीरों में वही यवनी युवक है.

Vicenza, Italia: L'arte antica della Grecia ha spesso dei giovani sportivi nudi. Per questo motivo, quando avevo visto la statua fuori dalla finestra al primo piano di una casa dietro la cattedrale, avevo cominciato a chiamarla "il ragazzo greco". Ho cercato a scoprire informazioni su questa statua ma senza successo. Le immagini di oggi hanno quel ragazzo greco.

Gestures - Gesti - मुद्राएँ

Guwahati, Assam, India: There was a time when I wanted to know the precise meaning of each gesture and the significance of the dance. Now I want to feel what each gesture means to me, which emotions are touched by the dance.

गुवाहाटी, असम, भारतः एक समय था जब मैं जानना चाहता था कि नृत्य की किस मुद्रा का क्या अर्थ है और नृत्य क्या कहानी कह रहा है. अब मुझे अधिक महत्वपूर्ण लगता है यह जानना कि मेरे लिए किस मुद्रा का क्या अर्थ है और नृत्य से मुझे क्या महसूस होता है.

Guwahati, Assam, India: Una volta volevo sapere i significati precisi di ogni gesto e la trama della danza. Adesso invece mi interessa sapere che cosa mi dicono i gesti, e che cosa mi fa sentire la danza.

Flutist - Flautista - मुरली वाला

Prague, Czech Republic: Among the blindfolded musicians swaying with the rhythm of their music, by the sculptor Anna Chromy, my favourite is the flute player.

प्राग, चेक गणतंत्रः आँखों पर पट्टी बाँधे, संगीत रस में झूमते, शिल्पकार अन्ना श्रोनी के संगीतकारों में मुझे सबसे अच्छे मुरली बजाने वाले लगते हैं.

Praga, Repubblica Ceca: Tra i musicisti con gli occhi bendati che sembrano a muoversi sul ritmo della loro musica, della scultrice Anna Chromy, il mio favorito è il flautista.

Horses & elephants - Cavalli e elefanti - घोड़े व हाथी

Gujarat, India: Tubraj hill has the shrine where tribal groups of Bhil and Garsiya pray to Tubraj and offer him horses and elephants of terracotta, and sacrifice goats. This re-creation of Tubraj shrine is at Manas museum in Bhopal and is the work of tribal artists Madhabhai Jethabhai Punja and Vitthalbahi Punja.

गुजरात, भारतः तुबराज पहाड़ी पर भील तथा गरसिया लोग बावसी तुबराज को पूजते हैं और उन्हें मिट्टी के घोड़े व हाथी चढ़ाते हैं, तथा बकरे की बलि देते हैं. तुबराज पूजा स्थल का भोपाल के मानस संग्रहालय में यह चित्रण आदिवासी कलाकार माधाभाई जैठाभाई पूँजा तथा विट्ठलभाई पूँजा द्वारा निर्मित है.

Gujarat, India: La collina di Tubraj ha il luogo sacro dove i gruppi tribali Bhil e Garsiya venerano Tubraj e gli offrono cavalli e elefanti di terracotta, insieme al sacrificio delle capre. Tutto è stato ricreato al museo Manas di Bhopal dagli artisti tribali Madhabhai Jethabhai Punja e Vitthalbahi Punja.

Fusion Bharatnatyam - मिश्रित भरतनाट्यम

I had seen the dance performance of Maya Dance Theatre from Singapore in Delhi. Their dance had a nice fusion of contemporary dance and classical Bharatnatyam.

सिंगापुर के माया थियेटर गुट के नृत्य को दिल्ली में देखने का अवसर मिला था. उनके नृत्य में आधुनिक नृत्य तथा पाराम्परिक भरतनाट्यम का सुन्दर सम्मिश्रण था.

Avevo assistito allo spettacolo di danza del gruppo Maya Dance Theatre di Singapore a Delhi. La loro danza aveva mescolato molto bene lo stile di danza moderna alla danza classica Bharatnatyam.

Floating puppets - Burattini galleggianti - तैरती कठपुतलियाँ

At the world Expo in Milan, there were floating wood puppets from Vietnam. Their puppet-show is done on water.

मिलान में अंतर्राष्ट्रीय एक्सो में वियतनाम की लकड़ी की तैरने वाली कठपुतलियाँ जिनका खेल पानी में दिखाते हैं.

Al Expo di Milano vi erano burattini galleggianti di legno dal Vietnam. I loro spettacoli si fanno sull'acqua.

Archimedes' bath - Bagno di Archimede - आर्कीमिडीज़ का स्नान

Manchester, UK: A contemporary of emperor Ashoka in India, the Greek scientist Archimedes had discovered the way of measuring the volume of irregular-shaped objects by dipping them in water. There is a story that the idea came to him while he was in the bath tub. Thrilled by his discovery, he rose up from the tub and ran shouting "Eureka, Eureka" (I have found it), forgetting that he was nude. Today's images have a statue depicting that Eureka moment of Archimedes. Its sculptor is Thompson W. Dagnall.

मेनचेस्टर, ब्रिटेनः भारत के सम्राट अशोक के समकालीन यवनी वैज्ञानिक आर्कीमीडीज़ ने टेढ़े मेढ़े आकार की वस्तुओं के परिमाण को पानी में डुबो कर मापने का तरीका खोजा था. कहते हैं कि यह सिद्धांत उनके मन में तब आया जब वह एक टब में लेटे स्नान कर रहे थे. उस समय वह उल्लास से टब से उठ कर "यूरेका, यूरेका" (मिल गया) कहते हुए भागे, भूल गये कि वह निर्वस्त्र थे. आज की तस्वीरों की मूर्ति में उनके इसी यूरेका वाले क्षण को दिखाया गया है. मूर्ति के शिल्पकार है थोमप्सन डगनाल.

Manchester, Gran Bretagna: Un contemporaneo del imperatore Ashoka in India, lo scienziato greco Archimede aveva scoperto il metodo per misurare il volume degli oggetti della forma irregolare immergendoli nell'acqua. Si dice che l'idea gli era arrivato mentre facevo bagno nella vasca. Felice della sua idea, si era alzato gridando "Eureka, Eureka" (l'ho trovato) e si era messo a correre, dimenticando che era nudo. Le immagini di oggi hanno una statua che mostra il momento Eureka di Archimede. Il suo scultore è Thompson W. Dagnall.

Olympic art - Arte olimpica - ओलिम्पिक कला

Lausanne, Switzerland: There was a period, between 1912 and 1948, when art competitions were part of the Olympic games. These art competitions were organised in 5 domains - architecture, literature, music, paintings and sculptures. You can see some of the olympic award winning sculptures in the gardens of the international Olympic museum. Over the past few weeks I have shown some of them on this blog. Today's images are also of an olympic award winner sculpture. The original sculpture of wrestlers was by Hungerian artist Milthiades Manno and it had received second prize in 1932 Olympic games, while the images shown above are of a copy in bigger size by Hungerian artist Ibolya Torok.  

लोज़ान, स्विट्ज़रलैंडः एक समय था, सन 1912 से 1948 के बीच, जब कला प्रतियोगिताएँ भी ओलिम्पिक खेलों का हिस्सा होती थीं. इन कला प्रतियागिताओं में पाँच विधाएँ थीं - वास्तुशास्त्र, साहित्य, संगीत, चित्रकला तथा शिल्पकला. अंतर्राष्ट्रीय ओलिम्पक संग्रहालय में  शिल्पकला विधा में ओलिम्पिक पुरस्कार पानी वाली शिल्पकला के कुछ नमूने देखे जा सकते हैं. पिछले कुछ दिनों में इस ब्लाग पर मैंने इनकी कुछ तस्वीरें प्रस्तुत की हैं. आज की तस्वीरें भी ऐसी ही एक कला को प्रदर्शित करती हैं. कुश्ती करने वालों की इस मूर्ति को मूल रूप से हँगरी के मिल्थियाडेस मन्नो ने बनाया था तथा इसे 1932 के ओलिम्पिक खेलों में दूसरा स्थान मिला था. तस्वीरों की मूर्ति उसी मूल कलाकृति की बड़े आकार की नकल है जिसे हँगरी के इबोल्या टूरुक ने बनाया है.

Losanna, Svizzera: C'era un periodo, tra il 1912 e il 1948, quando anche l'arte faceva parte dei giochi olimpici. I concorsi legati all'arte erano organizzati in 5 aree - architettura, letteratura, musica, dipinti e sculture. Potete vedere alcune sculture premiate ai giochi olimpici nei giardini del museo olimpico internazionale. Nei giorni scorsi ho presentato alcune foto di queste sculture su questo blog. Anche le immagini di oggi sono di una scultura olimpica - l'originale era dell'artista ungherese Milthiades Manno e aveva vinto il secondo premio ai giochi olimpici del 1932. Le scultura delle immagini è una copia in formato più grande dell'artista ungherese Ibolya Torok.

लोज़ान्न, स्विटज़रलैंडः अंतर्राष्ट्रीय ओलिम्पिक संग्रहालय में प्रदर्शित खेलों से सम्बन्धित शिल्पकला में मुझे हँगरी के शिल्पकार गेबोर मिहेली की साईकल दौड़ की मूर्तियाँ सबसे अच्छी लगती हैं.
