Pond temples - Stagni e templi - तालाब के मन्दिर

Ganiyari, Chattisgarh, India: In India's rural life, the nature and the sacred are intermixed. God is not there only inside the temple, s/he is also there in the tree and the pond, and in the soul of every being. This philosophy is evident in different aspects of daily lives. Yet in some parts of the life, this thinking gets deformed as in the caste related injustices. Today's images have some ponds and temples from Ganiyari village in Bilaspur district.

Il Dio non sta soltanto dentro il tempio, ma è anche nel albero e nello stagno, è nell'anima di ogni essere. Questo pensiero si evidenzia in diversi aspetti della vita quotidiana. Nonostante questo, in alcuni altri aspetti della vita questo pensiero è deformato come per le ingiustizie legate alle caste. Mongolian lakes - Laghi mongoli - मँगोली झीलें

Mongolia: I have been to Mongolia many times but the journey I remember most was about seven years ago, when I had travelled in jeep from Ulgii to Uvs in the extreme west of the country. Today's images have 3 Mongolian lakes from that journey - Uvs lake, Szgai lake and Achint lake.

मँगोलियाः मँगोलिया कई बार गया लेकिन मन में सबसे अधिक यादें सात साल पहले की एक यात्रा की हैं जब देश के पश्चिम में जीप से उल्गी से उव्स की यात्रा की थी. आज की तस्वीरों में उसी यात्रा से तीन मँगोली झीलें प्रस्तुत हैं - उव्स झील, स्ज़गई झील तथा अचिन्त झील.

Dimapur ponds - Stagni di Dimapur - दीमापुर के तालाब

Nagaland, India: Dimapur is the largest city of Nagaland, and also its commercial hub. In the main city, between the shops, narrow streets, roads full of pot-holes and traffic noise, along with the Naga people, there are many immigrants from Assam, Bihar, Bengal, etc. who are more than 50% of the population. To see the city as it was 20 years ago, you need to go out of the main town. Today's images have ponds from United North Block part of Burma camp, where many poor immigrants live.

नागालैंड, भारतः दीमापुर नागालैंड का सबसे बड़ा शहर है, और वहाँ का व्यवसायिक केन्द्र भी. मुख्य शहर में दुकानों, तंग गलियों, खड्डों से भरी सड़कों और यातायात की चिल्ल पौंपौं के बीच में नागा लोगों के साथ असमी, बिहारी, बँगाली आदि प्रवासी भी हैं जिनकी संख्या वहाँ 50 प्रतिशत से कुछ अधिक ही हैं. पुराना दीमापुर कैसा था यह देखने के लिए आप को शहर से थोड़ा बाहर निकलना पड़ेगा. आज की तस्वीरों में बर्मा कैम्प के युनाइटिड नोर्थ ब्लाक से तालाबों को कुछ तस्वीरें. यहाँ बहुत से गरीब प्रवासी रहते हैं.

Nagaland, India: Dimapur è la città più grande di Nagaland, e anche il suo centro commerciale. Nella città principale, in mezzo ai negozi, alle strette viuzze, alle strade piene di buchi e al rumore del traffico, insieme alle persone Naga, vi sono molti immigrati da Assam, Bihar, Bengala, ecc., i quali sono più del 50% della sua popolazione. Per vedere la città come era 20 anni fa, dovete andare alla periferia. Le immagini di oggi sono degli stagni nella zona di United North Block di Burma camp. Qui tra gli abitanti, molti sono gli immigrati poveri.

Parents & kids - Genitori e figli - माँ पिता और बच्चे

Today's images have ducks with their babies from different lakes in Italy. Whenever I see ducks with baby ducks, I remember the childhood tale of the ugly duckling who worries about not being as beautiful as her mother. That story is written from the child's point of view. I think that for parents it is so important to help our children gain self-confidence but sometimes it may not be easy. Till our children are not successful in their lives, we keep on worrying. And often, our ideas of success do not match with their ideas.

आज की तस्वीरों में इटली की विभिन्न झीलों से बच्चों के साथ बतखें हैं. जब भी बच्चों के साथ बतखों को देखता हूँ, बचपन की पढ़ी हँस के बच्चे की कहानी याद आती है जिसमे बच्चा सोचता है कि वह भद्दा है, माँ जैसा सुन्दर नहीं है. यह कहानी बच्चे की दृष्टि से लिखी गयी है. सोचता हूँ कि माता पिता के लिए अपने बच्चों को आत्मविश्वास देना कितना आवश्यक है और कितना कठिन भी है. जब तक हमारे बच्चे अपने जीवन में सफल नहीं होते, हमें चिन्ता बनी रहती है. पर उनकी सफलता का क्या मापदँड होना चाहिये, इसमें अक्सर हमारे विचार मेल नहीं खाते.

Quando vedo le papere con i figli, penso sempre al racconto del brutto anatroccolo che si preoccupa di non essere bello come sua madre. Penso quanto sia importante per noi genitori di aiutare i nostri figli ad avere fiducia in se stessi, e anche quanto difficile ciò può essere. Fino a quando i nostri figli non raggiungono successo nella loro vita, continuiamo a preoccuparci. E spesso le nostre idee di cosa significa avere successo non coincidono con le loro idee.

Lausanne, Switzerland: Yesterday evening while we were walking near the port on the lakeside, thick clouds arrived and it started to rain.

लोज़ान्न, स्विटज़रलैंडः कल शाम को झील की बन्दरगाह के पास घूम रहे थे तो घने बादल छा गये और फ़िर हल्की सी बारिश होने लगी.

Floating mountains - Montagne galleggianti - तैरते पहाड़

Lausanne, Switzerland: On my way to the World Health Organisation in Geneva, I had passed Lausanne so many times. Once I had gone there for meeting a friend. But I had never visited that city. Everytime I had thought that I will do it the next time. Only once, as there was some time for my train, I had gone to the Olympic garden on the lakeside near the station. Since then I had this image of Lausanne - of mountains on the other side of the lake, floating on the clouds. Today I am going back to Lausanne. And, this time I am determined to visit the city!

लोज़ान्न, स्विटज़रलैंडः जेनेवा में विश्व स्वास्थ्य संघ जाने के लिए, लोज़ान्न से जाने कितनी बार गुज़रा. एक बार वहाँ अपनी मित्र के यहाँ खाने के लिए भी गया था. लेकिन कभी शहर में नहीं घूमा. हर बार सोचा कि अगली बार घूमूँगा. बस एक बार रेलगाड़ी के लिए कुछ समय था तो स्टेशन के पास ही झील के किनारे ओलिम्पिक बाग में थोड़ी देर के लिए गया था. उस समय से लोज़ान्न की झील के दूसरी ओर बादलों पर तैरते हुए पहाड़ों की छवि मन में थी. आज लोज़ान्न जा रहा हूँ. और इस बार वहाँ घूमने का पक्का निश्चय है!

Losanna, Svizzera: Mentre andavo all'Organizzazione Mondiale della Salute a Ginevra, avevo passato Losanna molte volte. Una volta ero andato là a visitare un'amica. Ma non avevo mai visitato la città. Ogni volta l'avevo rimandato alla prossima visita. Soltanto una volta, quando avevo un po' di tempo per il mio treno, ero andato al parco Olimpico lungo il lago vicino alla stazione. Da allora ho questa immagine di Losanna, delle montagne dall'altra parte del lago che sembrano a galleggiare sulle nuvole. Oggi devo andare a Losanna. E questa volta sicuramente visiterò la città!
