Roman morning - Mattina romana - रोम में सुबह

Rome, Italy: I have been in Rome for many days over the past two weeks. This time, there was little time to go around, but still one morning while changing buses at Venezia square, I could click a few images of "Altar to the Fatherland" monument.

रोम, इटलीः पिछले दो सप्ताहों में बहुत से दिन रोम में गुज़रे हैं. इस बार घूमने का समय अधिक नहीं मिला पर वेनेत्ज़िया स्कवायर में बस बदलते हुए "पित्रभूमि का स्मारक" की कुछ तस्वीरें खींचने का समय मिल ही गया.

Flying man - L'uomo volante - उड़ता पुरुष

Rome, Italy: Arrigo Saltini was an air-force pilot and he was 23 years old when he had died in the first world war. His memorial on his tomb shows him as a flying man. I liked this sculpture very much.

रोम, इटलीः अर्रिगो साल्तीनी हवाई जहाज़ के पायलट थे और 23 वर्ष के थे जब प्रथम विश्व युद्ध में उनकी मृत्यू हुई. उनकी कब्र पर उनके स्मारक में उन्हें हवा में उड़ते हुए दिखाया गया है. मुझे यह मूर्ति बहुत अच्छी लगी.

Roma, Italia: Arrigo Saltini era un pilota delle forze aeree e aveva 23 anni quando morì durante la prima guerra mondiale. Il memoriale sulla sua tomba lo presenta come l'uomo in volo. Mi è piaciuta molto questa scultura.

Rome, Italy: When I saw the soldiers' monument, I felt as if the sculptor has caught that moment when the life meets the death.

रोम, इटलीः सिपाही स्मारक को देख कर लगा कि मानो शिल्पकार ने जीवन और मृत्यू के बीच की सीमा वाले पल को पकड़ लिया हो.

Roma, Italia: Quando ho visto il monumento ai soldati, mi è sembrato come se lo scultore è riuscito a catturare il momento quando la vita incontra la morte.

Evening horsemen - Cavallieri della sera - संध्या के घुड़सवार

Rome, Italy: I am in Rome and wondering that after finishing the work today, where should I go for a walk? Last time when I had come to Rome, during my evening walk I had found sculptor Javier Marin's horsemen. Today's images are of that sculpture.

रोम, इटलीः आज भी रोम में हूँ और सोच रहा हूँ कि दोपहर में जब मीटिंग समाप्त होगी तो कौन सी जगह घूमनी चाहिये? पिछली बार रोम आया था तो शाम को घूमते समय शिल्पकार ज़ाविएर मारिन की कलाकृति "घुड़सवार" देखने को मिली थी.  आज की तस्वीरें उसी कलाकृति की हैं.

Roma, Italia: Sono a Roma e sto pensando che dopo la conclusione dei lavori oggi dove posso andare per una passeggiata? Ultima volta quando ero a Roma, durante la passeggiata serale avevo trovato i cavallieri dello scultore Javier Marin. Le immagini di oggi sono di quella scultura.

Horse circus - Circo dei Cavalli - घोड़ों की सर्कस

Rome, Italy: "Via Appia" is a two thousand years old road. It was while building this road that Spartacus and other thousands of slaves had revolted. Located in the outskirts of the city, few tourists reach here. On the side of the road is the roman stadium called "Messenzio's circus", where they used to have horse and chariot races, as was shown in the film Benhur. The open area covered with green grass and old ruins is very beautiful. The word "circus", a round place for entertainment, originated from such places.

रोम, इटलीः "विया आप्पिया" नाम की सड़क दो हजार साल पुरानी है. इसी सड़क को बनाते हुए स्पार्टाकस और अन्य  हज़ारों गुलामों ने बगावत की थी और मारे गये थे. शहर के इस बाहिरी हिस्से में पर्यटक कम आते हैं. यहीं पर "मसेनज़ियो की सर्कस" नाम का प्राचीन रोमन स्टेडियम है जहाँ घोड़ों तथा रथों के बीच दौड़ें होती थीं, जैसा कि "बेनहुर" फ़िल्म में दिखाया गया था. हरी घास से ढका मैदान और प्राचीन भग्नावषेश, बहुत सुन्दर जगह है. "सर्कस" शब्द यानि गोलाकार जगह जहाँ मनोरँजन कार्यक्रम हों, ऐसी जगहों से ही से बना है.

Roma, Italia: "Via Appia" ha più di due mila anni. Mentre si costruiva questa strada, Spartaco e altri migliaia di schiavi si erano rivoltati. Situato nella periferia della città, pochi turisti arrivano fino qui. Ad un lato della strada c'è il "Circo di Massenzio" dove gareggiavano i cavalli e i carri, come nella famosa scena del film Benhur. Un'enorme distesa di erba verde con le rovine, è un luogo molto suggestivo. La parola "circo", un luogo circolare usato per il divertimento, ha avuto origine da simili luoghi.

Matera rocks - Sassi di Matera - मतेरा की चट्टानें

Rome, Italy: The antique city of Matera in the south of Italy is famous for its stone houses made in a rocky terrain. In the rocks there are caves used as houses in the old times. Today's images have a crib in st. Peter's square that was based on the houses of Matera and showed the daily life of its people.

रोम, इटलीः दक्षिण इटली का प्राचीन शहर मतेरा अपनी चट्टानों पर बने पत्थर के घरों के लिए प्रसिद्ध है. चट्टानों के बीच में गुफ़ाओं में पुराने समय के घर भी हैं. आज की तस्वीरों में सैंट पीटर स्कावयर में बनी क्रिसमस की झाँकी है जिसमें मतेरा के घरों और वहाँ के जीवन को दिखाया गया था.

Roma, Italia: L'antica città di Matera è famosa per le sue case di pietra in un terreno di rocce. Tra le rocce vi sono le grotte usate come case nei vecchi tempi. Le immagini di oggi hanno un presepe nella piazza San Pietro basato sulle case di Matera che presentava scene della vita quotidiana.

Climb - Salita - चढ़ाई

Vatican city, Italy: There is a lift that takes you half the way to the dome of St Peter's church, the remaining half must be climbed on foot. The last part of stairs is very narrow, as it follows the round shape of the dome, only one person can fit in, with a bit of difficulty. I was breathless from the climb and thought a few times of giving up. The dome was constructed under the supervision of Michelangelo, though he died before its completion. The thought that he might have climbed those same stairs, gave me a thrill. The panorama of Vatican city and Rome seen from the dome is wonderful.

वेटीकेन, इटलीः सैंट पीटर गिरजाघर के गुम्बज के शिखर तक जाने के लिए आधे रास्ते तक लिफ्ट है, उसके बाद सीढ़ियाँ चढ़नी पड़ती हैं, गुम्बज की गोलाई के साथ घूमती संकरी सीढ़ियाँ जिसमें एक व्यक्ति कठिनता से समाता है. चढ़ते चढ़ते साँस फ़ूलने लगी थी और कई बार मन में आया कि छोड़ो, ऐसा भी क्या दिखेगा. इस गुम्बज का निर्माण माइकलएन्जलो की देखभाल में हुआ था, हालाँकि इसके पूरा होने से पहले ही उनकी मृत्यू हो चुकी थी. यह सोच कर कि कभी उन सीढ़ियों पर वे चले होंगे, रोमाँच सा हुआ. उपर से रोम और वेटीकेन का दूर दूर तक का नज़ारा सुन्दर था.

Città del Vaticano, Italia: C'è un ascensore fino alla metà della salita per la cupola di San Pietro, per il resto devi fare le scale. L'ultima parte delle scale che segue la forma della cupola è molto stretta e una persona ci sta con fatica. Ero senza fiato mentre la salivo e avevo pensato di rinunciare. La cupola era stata costruita sotto la supervisione di Michelangelo, anche se era morto prima della sua conclusione. L'idea che anche lui aveva salito le stesse scale, mi piaceva. La panorama della città del Vaticano e di Roma vista dalla cima della cupola è bella.

Rome, Italy: St Peter's church in Rome is the biggest church in the world. Full of marble statues and gilded decorations, it seems to be like an art museum. Its most famous statue is Michelangelo's Pietà, which has Mary crying with the body of dead Jesus in her arms.

रोम, इटलीः रोम का सैंट पीटर गिरजाघर दुनिया का सबसे बड़ा गिरजाघर है. संगमरमर की मूर्तियों और दीवारों पर सुनहरी कारीगरी से सजा यह गिरजाघर मुझे एक कला संग्रहालय लगता है. इसकी सबसे प्रसिद्ध कलाकृति माइकलएँजेलो की बनायी मूर्ति  "करुणा" है जिसमें मृत येसू के शरीर पर रोने वाली उनकी माँ मिरियम बनी है.

Roma, Italia: La basilica di San Pietro è la chiesa più grande del mondo. Piena di statue di marmo e di decorazioni dorate, la basilica mi sembra un museo d'arte. La sua statua più famosa è "La pietà" di Michelangelo, con Maria che piange sul corpo di Gesù.
