Earthquake - Terremoto - भूकम्प

Emilia Romagna, Italy: This part of Italy had many earthquakes yesterday. Today's images have three symbols from three cities that had damages due to the earthquake, as my best wishes to people affected by the disaster. We are all safe, we just had fear when the earth trembled but we did not have any damage.

एमिलिया रोमान्या, इटलीः इटली के इस क्षेत्र में कल कई भूकम्प आये. आज की तस्वीरों में तीन शहरों के तीन चिन्ह, जिन्हें इस भूकम्प में नकसान हुआ है और भूचाल से पीड़ित परिवारों के लिए शुभकामनाएँ. हम सब कुशल हैं, बस जब धरती डोली तो डर गये थे, लेकिन हमारा कुछ नुकसान नहीं हुआ.

Emilia Romagna, Italia: Ieri questa parte del paese ha avuto diversi terremoti. Le immagini di oggi hanno tre luoghi simbolo da tre città, dove vi sono stati dei danni. Vorrei mandare i miei auguri alle persone colpite. Noi stiamo bene, a parte la paura durante il terremoto, non abbiamo avuto nessun tipo di danno.

Grey sea - Mare grigio - सलेटी सागर

New York, USA: Like Bombay, Manhattan is also like a finger sticking out in the sea. The walking area around the tip of finger is called promenade. The day I went there, it was cloudy, windy and the sea was grey. The advantage of bad weather was that there were no crowds, there were just a few stray tourists like me.

न्यूयोर्क, अमरीकाः मेनहेटन समुद्र में उठी उँगली जैसा है, जैसे मुम्बई है. उस उँगली का कोना जहाँ समाप्त होता है, वहाँ समुद्र के साथ चलते रास्ते को प्रोमेनेड कहते है. जब उधर जाने का मौका मिला तो बादल छाये थे, हवा चल रही थी और समुद्र का रंग सलेटी था. इसका फायदा यह था कि भीड़ नहीं थी, आसपास कोई इक्का दुक्का घूमने वाला ही दिख रहा था.

Nuova York, Stati Uniti: Come Bombay, anche Manhattan è come un dito alzato nel mare. La passeggiata intorno alla punta del dito si chiama Promenade. Il giorno che l'ho visitato, era nuvoloso e c'era tanto vento, il mare era grigio. Il vantaggio del brutto tempo era che non c'era la solita folla, vi erano solo alcuni turisti come me.

T-shirt - Magliette - टीशर्ट

Rome, Italy: The museum of modern art in Rome is called Maxxi. These days, its courtyard is hosting an installation by Finland artist Kaarina Kaikkonen called "Towards tomorrow" made from children's t-shirts. The site of Maxxi used to be the factory of fashion-wear house called Max Mara. Thus, the idea of future in the installation holds a reference to the past of this building.

रोम, इटलीः रोम के आधुनिक कला संग्रहालय का नाम है मैक्सी. उसके प्रांगण में फिनलैंड की कलाकार कारीना काईकोनेन ने बच्चों की टीशर्टों को ले कर नयी कलाकृति बनायी है जिसका नाम है "कल की ओर". जहाँ आज मैक्सी का भवन है, कभी वहाँ पर फैशन के वस्त्र बनाने वाली "मैक्स मारा" नाम की फैक्टरी होती थी. इस तरह से काईकोनेन की कलाकृति के आने वाले कल में उस जगह का बीता हुआ कल भी छुपा है.

Roma, Italia: Il museo di arte moderna a Roma si chiama Maxxi. In questi giorni il cortile del museo ospita un'installazione del artista finlandese Kaarina Kaikkonen che si chiama "Verso domani", costruita con le magliette dei bambini. Dove oggi c'è Maxxi, una volta c'era la fabrica di vestiti di Max Mara. Così l'idea del futuro nell'installazione di Kaikkonen nasconde un riferimento al passato dell'edificio.

Glass house - Casa di vetro - काँच घर

New York, USA: This glass house is located just behind where there were twin towers, near the sea. Some how it did not have any damages in the 2001 terrorist attack.

नयू योर्क, अमरीकाः समुद्र तट के पास बना यह काँच का घर जहाँ जुड़वा टावर थे उसके पीछे बना है. जब 2001 में आतंकवादी हमला हुआ था, यह उस हमले में बच गया था.

Nuova York, Stati Uniti: Questo edificio di vetro sta subito dietro dove stavano le torri gemelle, vicino al mare. Ma l'edificio è sfuggito ai danni causati dai terroristi nel 2001.

Alps - Alpi - एल्प

Chamonix, France: Yesterday morning when we started from Geneva, the sky was cloudy. By the time we reached Mont Blanc tunnel that connects France with Italy, sun was shining and Alps looked wonderful in their splendid imponence.

शामोनी, फ्राँसः कल सुबह जब जेनेवा से चले थे तो कुछ बादल छाये थे, लेकिन जब फ्राँस और इटली को जोड़नी वाली श्वेत पहाड़ (मोंट ब्लांक) सुरंग तक पहुँचे सुन्दर धूप निकल आयी थी और एल्प के पहाड़ अपनी भव्यता में मनमोहक लग रहे थे.

Chamonix, Francia: Ieri quando eravamo partiti da Ginevra, il cielo era un po' nuvoloso, ma quando siamo arrivati al tunnel del monte bianco che collega Francia all'Italia, c'era il sole e le Alpi erano meravigliose nel loro splendore imponente.

Geneva, Switzerland: Yesterday while coming back from the meeting saw a group of young people doing skating practice.

जेनेवा, स्वीटज़रलैंडः कल शाम को मीटिंग से लौट रहा था तो रास्ते में स्केटिंग का अभ्यास करते हुए कुछ किशोर दिखे.

Ginevra, Svizzera: Ieri sera mentre tornavo dalla riunione, ho visto un gruppo di giovani che facevano la pratica di skating.

Bologna, Italy: The "transformation man" had the clothes and masks of a man and a woman, he put it on and became a couple dancing in the street.

बोलोनिया, इटलीः बहरूपिये ने नारी और पुरुष के वस्त्र और मुखौटे बनाये हुए थे, उनको पहन कर वह एक से दो व्यक्ति बन गया और उसने युगल का नृत्य दिखाया.

Bologna, Italia: "L'uomo trasformazione" aveva i vestiti e le maschere di una donna e di un uomo, portandoli lui si trasformò in due persone che ballavano.

Music - Musica - संगीत

Bologna, Italy: Yesterday in the city, I heard a new music group called "Rumba de Bodas". The group has five guys and a girl (not in the pictures). I liked their music, it had a Latin touch to it.

बोलोनिया, इटलीः कल शहर में एक नये संगीट गुट को सुनने का मौका मिला. उनका नाम है "रुम्बा दे बोडास" और गुट में हैं पाँच युवक और एक युवती (युवती तस्वीरों में नहीं है). अच्छा लगा उनका संगीत, जो कि लेटिन अमरीकी शैली का था.

Bologna, Italia: Ieri in centro ho ascoltato un nuovo gruppo musicale che si chiama "Rumba de Bodas". Il gruppo è composto da cinque ragazzi e una ragazza (non nelle foto). Mi è piaciuta la loro musica, che aveva un tocco latino.

Hunger - Fame - भूख

New York, USA: For continuing to live and for children's future, life is willing to face all hardships and people leave their villages and cities in search of survival. The Irish Hunger Memorial represents such a time. Around 1850, in Ireland about 1 million people died from hunger and another 1 million emigrated in search of a life. Thus in a few years, Ireland lost one fourth of its population.

न्यू योर्क, अमरीकाः जीवन जीवित रहने के लिए और बच्चों के भविष्य के लिए कुछ भी सह लेता है और लोग घर गाँव छोड़ कर रोज़ी रोटी कमाने निकल पड़ते हैं. ऐसे ही समय की याद में बनाया गया है यह आईरिश भूख स्मृति स्मारक. 1850 के आसपास आयरलैंड में भूख से करीब दस लाख लोग मरे और अन्य दस लाख रोटी की तलाश में अमरीका में प्रवासी बन कर आये. कुछ ही समय में इस तरह आयरलैंड की जन संख्या एक चौथाई कम हो गयी.

Nuova York, Stati Uniti: Per continuare a vivere e per il futuro dei figli, la vita accetta di affrontare tutte le difficoltà e le persone partono dai loro villaggi e città in cerca di sopravvivenza. Il memoriale irlandese al fame rappresenta un periodo simile. Intorno al 1850, circa 1 milione di irlandesi morirono per fame e un altro milione emigrò in cerca di un futuro. Così in giro di pochi anni, Irlanda aveva perso circa un quarto della sua popolazione.

New tower - Nuova torre - नया टावर

New York, USA: Where there were the twin towers of the World Trade Centre, they are building a memorial for remembering the persons who had died in 2001, and also a new skyscrapper. Everyone calls it the new tower. After a few decades, new generations will ask, why that old building is called the new tower?

न्यू योर्क, अमरीकाः जहाँ वर्ल्ड ट्रेड सैंटर के ट्विन टावर होते थे, वहाँ 2001 में मरे लोगों की याद में स्मारक बन रहा है और साथ में एक नया गगनचुम्बी टावर. सब लोग उसे नया टावर कहते हैं. कुछ दशकों के बाद नयी पीढ़ियाँ पूछेंगी कि उस पुरानी बिल्डिंग को नया टावर क्यों कहते हैं?

Nuova York, USA: Il posto dove stavano le torri gemelle del WTC, stanno costruendo il memoriale per ricordare le persone morte nel 2001, e anche una nuovo grattacielo. Tutti la chiamano la nuova torre. Dopo qualche decade, le nuove generazioni chiederanno perché quel vecchio grattacielo si chiama la nuova torre?

New York, USA: After seeing it so many times in films, Grand Central railway station looked familiar like a relative's house.

न्यू योर्क, अमरीकाः इतनी बार फ़िल्मों में देखा था ग्रैन्ड सैंट्रल रेलवे स्टेश्न को कि किसी रिश्तेदार के घर जैसा जाना पहचाना लगा.

Nuova York, Stati Uniti: Dopo averlo visto in numerosi film, la stazione ferroviaria Grand Central mi è sembrata familiare come la casa di un parente.

Pink-white - Rosa-bianco - गुलाबी श्वेत

New York, USA: I am mad about tulips and New York was full of tulips in different colours like the pink and white flowers of today's images.

न्यू योर्क, अमरीकाः मैं ट्यूलिप के फ़ूलों का दीवाना हूँ और न्यू योर्क तो रंग बिरंगे ट्यूलिपों से भरा था, जैसे कि आज की तस्वीरों की गुलाबी और श्वेत फ़ूलों की क्यारियाँ.

Earth man - Uomo di terra - मिट्टी मानस

Bologna, Italy: There is a "street artists" festival going on in the city. There I saw this human statue covered with earthy colours. Often I see these persons who paint themselves with a colour and become human statues, but this young man looked different from them. Don't you think he looks good?

बोलोनिया, इटलीः शहर में आज कल "सड़क के कलाकार" नाम का फैस्टीवल चल रहा है. वहीं पर इस मिट्टी के रंगों में रंगी मानव मूर्ती को देखा. शरीर को एक रंग में रंग कर मूर्ति बन जाने का हुनर तो आजकल अक्सर दिखता है, पर यह युवक मुझे उनसे अलग लगा. क्या आप को अच्छा लगा?

Bologna, Italia: C'è il festival degli artisti di strada in città in questi giorni. Li, ho visto questa statua umana coperta di colori della terra. Oramai è comunque vedere queste persone coperte di un colore che fanno la statua, ma il giovane mi è sembrato diverso dagli altri. Vi è piaciuto?

Water angel - Angelo dell'acqua - जलपरी

New York, USA: Shown in many Hollywood films and TV serials, when you first see the Bethesda fountain, built in 1873 in the central park, it may look familiar. It has the statue of a water angel by American artist Emma Stabbins, with lily flowers in her left hand while with her right hand she blesses the water for purity.

न्यू योर्क, अमरीकाः होलीवुड की बहुत सी फ़िल्मों और टीवी सीरियल में देखा हुआ, सैंट्रल पार्क में 1873 का बना बेथेस्डा फुव्हारा पहली बार देखो तो भी जाना पहचाना सा लगता है. इसमें अमरीकी शिल्पकारा एम्मा स्टेबिन्नस द्वारा बनायी जल परी की मूर्ती है जिसके बायें हाथ में कुमुदनी के फ़ूल हैं और वह दायें हाथ से पानी को पवित्रता और स्वछता का आशीर्वाद दे रही है.

Nuova York, Stati Uniti: Già vista in diversi film e telefilm di Hollywood, quando vedi per la prima volta la fontana di Bethesda costruita nel 1873 nel central park, ti può sembrare familiare. Ha una statua di un angelo dell'acqua della scultrice americana Emma Stabbins, con i gigli nella mano sinistra, mentre con la mano destra dà la benedizione della purezza all'acqua.

New York, USA: It is incredible how Hindi songs enter deep inside us and give voice to our emotions in unexpected moments. Every time I see a squirrel, I always think of Gulzar's words from the song in "Kaminey" about eating left-over peas of squirrels. Today's images have squirrels from New York.

न्यू योर्क, अमरीकाः हिन्दी फ़िल्मों के गाने कैसे हमारे ज़िन्दगियों में घुल मिल जाते हैं, और अचानक कभी कभी हमारी भावनाओं को स्वर देते हैं! जब भी कभी कोई गिलहरी देखता हूँ, "कमीने" फ़िल्म से गुलज़ार के गीत की गिलहरी के जूठे मटर खाने की बात मन में आ जाती है. आज की तस्वीरों में न्यू योर्क की कुछ गिलहरियाँ.

Nuova York, Stati Uniti: E' incredibile come le parole delle canzoni entrano dentro di noi e poi, all'improvviso danno una voce alle nostre emozioni. Ogni volta che vedo uno scoiattolo, penso alle parole di Gulzar dalla canzone in "Kaminey", che parla di mangiare i piselli lasciati dagli scoiattoli. Birds - Uccelli - पक्षी

New York, USA: I had not imagined that you can see so many different bird species in the central park. They seemed used to human presence so usually they didn't fly away unless I tried to get too close to them. I love bird watching, so spent hours looking at them. Three images from that wonderful morning are presented here.

न्यू योर्क, अमरीकाः सैंट्रल पार्क में इतनी तरह के रंग बिरंगे पक्षी हो सकते हैं, यह सोचा नहीं था. पक्षी भी ऐसे जो मानव सानिध्य के अभियस्त थे, इसलिए जब तक उनके बहुत अधिक करीब जाने की कोशिश नहीं करता, वे उड़ कर दूर नहीं जाते. मुझे पक्षी निहारने का शौक है, वहाँ मुग्ध हो कर घूमता रहा. उसी सुन्दर सुबह की तीन तस्वीरें पस्तुत हैं.

Nuova York, Stati Uniti: Non avevo immaginato di vedere così tante specie diverse degli uccelli nel central park. Erano abituati alla presenza umana per cui non volavano via, finché non andavo troppo vicino. Amo guardare gli uccelli e ho passato ore a guardarli. Oggi vi presento tre immagini da quella meravigliosa mattina.
