Koraput, Orissa, India: I had seen many large extended families but this women-only family that I saw in Koraput hospital was special. They were waiting for the auto for going back to home. There was a young new born baby girl, her mother and her maternal grandmother. Then there was her paternal grandmother with her two mother-in-laws. At that time I didn't think of asking them about the significance of the two mother-in-laws of the grandmother but could it be that the great grandfather had two wives or there was some other relatiuonship?
Koraput, Orissa, India: Ho visto molte famiglie estese ma la famiglia di sole donne che ho visto all'ospedale di Koraput era speciale. C'era una bimba neonata con sua madre e la nonna materna. Poi c'erano la nonna paterna insieme alle sue due suocere. In quel momento non ho pensato di chiederle spiegazioni sulle due suocere ma dopo ci pensavo. Potrebbe essere che il bis nonno aveva due moglie o forse vi era qualche altra relazione tra le due donne?
