Broken statues - Statue spezzate - खण्डित प्रतिमाएँ

बैंकाक की प्राचीन राजधानी अयुथ्या के खण्डहरों में बहुत सी खण्डित बुद्ध प्रतिमाएँ देख कर अजीब सा लगता था, मानो मंदिर नहीं युद्ध स्थल हों जहाँ घायल शरीर बिखरे हों, ध्यान से सुनो तो हवा में गूँजते चीत्कार सुनाई दें.

Rows of broken Buddha statues in the temple ruins of Ayutthaya, the antique capital of Thailand, made me feel as if I was standing in a battle field with dead bodies all around and I thought that if I listened intently, I could hear the echoes of their cries.

  4. Who committed this heinous act, do write this as well. what did these silent statues or Bamiyan Buddhas ask for from the destroyers ? Disgusting , deplorable !
