भारतः यात्राओं में अक्सर अकेला होता हूँ और साथ परिवार न होने की कमी कभी कभी बहुत खलती है. शायद इसीलिए जब परिवारों को फोटो के खिंचवाने के पोज़ बनाते हुए देखता हूँ तो उनकी तस्वीरें लेना अच्छा लगता है.

India: During my travels, I am often alone and sometimes I miss not having my family around me. Perhaps that is why when I see families posing for pictures, I can't resist photographing them.

Lord Jaggan Nath - Dio Giaggan Nath - भगवान जगननाथ

उड़ीसा, भारतः पुरी के भगवान जगननाथ का मंदिर भारत में ही नहीं पूरे विश्व में विख्यात है, इसी मंदिर की रथ यात्रा से अँग्रेजी का शब्द Jaggernaut यानि "विशालकाय" बना है. जगननाथ यानि कि भगवान कृष्ण क्योंकि उनके साथ ही बलराम या बलभद्र और सुभद्रा की भी पूजा होती है. मुझे भगवान जगननाथ, बलराम और सुभद्रा की आकृतियाँ बहुत अनौखी और सुंदर लगीं, जो जनजातियों की कला लगती हैं. उड़ीसा विभिन्न जनजातियों का प्रदेश है, शायद उनमें से ही जगननाथ पूजा और यह आकृतियाँ हिंदू धर्म में आयीं? आकृति की नाक पर लगाये गहने पुरुष भगवान का सोच कर कुछ अज़ीब लगते हैं, पर शायद उसके पीछे भी कोई कहानी है?

Orissa, India: The temple of lord Jaggan Nath in Puri is world famous, the enormous chariot of the temple has given the word "Jaggernaut" to English language. Jaggannath is another name of lord Krishna and is prayed together with his brother Balram and sister Subhadra. I found these images of god strange and yet beautiful. They remind me of the tribal art. In Orissa there are many tribes and perhaps these images came to Hinduism from there? The nasal ornaments are not usual for a male god but there is some story behind those as well?

Orissa, India: Il tempio del dio Giaggan Nath di Puri è conosciuto nel mondo per la sua bellezza. L'enorme carro del tempio ha dato la parola "Jaggernaut" all'inglese, che significa "gigante". Giaggannath è un altro nome del dio Krishna e in questo tempio, sono presenti altri due dei, il fratello Balram e la sorella Subhadra. Ho trovato queste le immagini del dio Giaggannath molto particolari e belle. Mi fanno pensare all'arte tribale. Orissa è terra di molto tribù indigene e forse quei dei sono arrivati all'induismo da qualche tribù? Gli ornamenti nasali sono strani per un dio maschio, ma forse vi è una storia anche dietro questa usanza?

हैदराबाद, भारतः चारमीनार और मक्का मस्जिद के पास के क्षेत्र में भिखारी. जाने क्यों मुझे लगता है कि भिखारियों के अलग समानांतर दुनिया है जिसकी छोटी सी झलक हमें मिलती है पर जिसे देख कर भी नहीं देखते. शायद इसीलिए भीख माँगने वालों के बारे में जानने के लिए मैं बहुत उत्सुक होता हूँ. धार्मिक पात्रों और यहाँ तक फ़िल्मों से मेनेजमैंट के गुण कैसे सीखें इस बारे में तो किताबें देखीं हैं पर सोचता हूँ कि किसी को भिखारियों का अध्ययन करके उनसे मेनेजमैंट के गुण सीखने के बारे में लिखना चाहिये.

Hyderabad, India: Beggers in the area around Char Minaar and Mecca Masjid. I feel that there is a parallel world of beggers, that we hardly know about and we hardly see. Perhaps that's why I am very curious to know more about them as persons. I think that there are many books about principles of management based on religious characters and even films, but it could be interesting to look at principles of business management from beggers' point of views.

Hyderbad, India: Mendicanti nell'area intorno a Char Minaar e Mecca Masjid. Penso che vi sia un mondo parallelo dei mendicanti, della quale sappiamo poco e che ignoriamo. Forse è per questo che sono così curioso riguardo le loro vite. Conosco diversi libri che parlano di management dal punto di vista di figure religiose o anche dei film, ma penso che sarebbe interessante guardare ai principi di management dal punto di vista dei mendicanti.

दिल्ली, भारतः प्रेम करने वाले युगल मुझे बहुत सुंदर लगते हैं, प्रेम ही तो जीवन का सबसे सुंदर रस है. पर भारत में प्रेमी होना खतरे से खाली नहीं. खुले आम झगड़ा करलो, मार पीट करलो, तो कोई कुछ नहीं कहता, पर लड़का लड़की ज़रा सा करीब चल रहे हों तो सीटियाँ और गालियाँ शुरु हो सकती हैं. एकांत खोजते प्रेमियों को दूसरे नवयुवक और पुलिस वाले नहीं छोड़ते. शायद इसीलिए बेचारे प्रेमी युगल टिकट खरीद कर प्राचीन स्मारकों के आसपास वह एकांत खोजते दिखते हैं.

दिल्ली, भारतः देश की राजधानी में विरोध करने वालों, धरना देने वालों तथा जलूस निकालने वालों की कमी नहीं. रुक कर इन लोगों से पूछिये कि क्या हुआ तो अन्याय, अत्याचार की कहानियाँ सुन सकते हैं पर लगता है कि शहर में किसी के पास रुकने या पूछने का समय नहीं.

Delhi, India: The national capital is often theatre of protests, marches. If you have time to stop and ask, you can hear stories of injustice and oppression, however it seems as the city does not have that time to stop and ask any thing.
