Abaetetuba, Para state, Brazil: My friend could not believe that I wanted to take pictures of those "dirty and inauspicious Uburu birds", but truely I loved them. To me they looked like ancient warriors wearing armour, ready for the war. People think that they are dirty because often you find them near rubbish dumps. These black vultures are found from the south of USA down to Brazil and Peru. Don't you feel that they are beautiful? And eating the remains from the dumps, isn't that a good thing to clean this world, for which they should be thanked rather than called inauspicious?
अबायेतेतूबा, परा राज्य, ब्राज़ीलः मेरी मित्र को विश्वास नहीं हुआ कि मैं उन "गन्दे और अशुभ उबुरू" पक्षियों की तस्वीर खींचना चाहता था, लेकिन सच में मुझे वे पक्षी बहुत सुन्दर लगे थे. लगा जैसे प्राचीन कवच पहने यौद्धा हों, लड़ाई में जाने के लिए तैयार. लोग उन्हें गन्दा इसलिए मानते हैं क्योंकि यह पक्षी अक्सर गन्दगी और कूड़े के ढेरों के पास ही मिलते हैं. यह काले गिद्ध जिनका ब्राज़ीली नाम उबुरू है, अमरीका के दक्षिण भाग से ले कर ब्राज़ील, पेरू आदि देशों में पाये जाते हैं. आप बताईये, क्या आप को यह पक्षी सुन्दर नहीं लगते? और कूड़े के ढेर से खाने को निकालना, क्या यह दुनिया की सफायी करने का अच्छा काम नहीं है, जिसके लिए बजाय उन्हें अशुभ कहने के, उनकी सराहना करनी चाहिये?
Abaetetuba, Parà, Brasile: Mia amica non credeva che volevo veramente fotografare quegli "uccelli uburù, sporchi e sfigati", ma mi erano piaciuti davvero. Mi sembravano antichi guerrieri con le armature, pronti per andare in guerra. La gente pensa che siano sporchi perché si trovano dove c'è immondizia. Questi avvoltoi neri, si trovano dal sud degli Stati Uniti fino al Brasile e al Perù. Non vi sembrano belli? e cercare da mangiare nell'immondizia, non è una cosa da lodare perché aiuta a pulire il mondo, invece di chiamarli "porta sfortuna"?

सफाई करने वाले इंसानों को ही जब गंदा माना जाता था तो यह तो पक्षी है.
