Rome, Italy: German artist Ha Schultz fashioned an army of statues out of garbage and placed it in Republic square in Rome, like the underground army of warriors in emperor's tomb in Xian (China). Today's world is all about marketing. The more you sell, the more garbage you produce, the more your country is considered rich and developed. May be historians will call our present epoch as "the garbage era".

  2. This is amazing piece of work. Never thought som1 could create wonders like this with garbage. I believe it's one good artistic way to spread awareness and promote shifting to recyclable and degradable stuffs so that we can survive this garbage era.

  4. I forgot mentioning that such art is broadly called 'installation'. I've seen some of such 'art works' which're so bizarre, absurd, and stupid that I can hardly approve of this form, though I like the concept presented here.

One 'artist' I saw created a small mountain of old tires and people with 'a great vision and understanding of real art' admired him in all grand words. It is sometimes very funny being in an art gallery. You can see artloving people having good taste showering praise over broken mirrors and mutilated dolls displayed as installations.

    1. Thanks Harish. It is indeed depressing to live in garbage era. Every time I buy a small thing like batteries or a pen drive or a CD and look in the supermarket, most of the time they are packaged in big colourful boxes .. how can we reconcile the needs of marketing with needs of a sustainable world?
