Altopiano Fiorentino (VI), Italy: The ruins of the bunkers of the Austrian soldiers from the first world war are hidden behind a group of trees. I said, "I do not want to know how many persons had died here, how old they were, what were their names." The surrounding mountains and valleys were so beautiful, I wanted to look at them. I had no desire to listen to sad stories of wars and deaths.
