London, Britain: In front of Royal Albert hall, in Kensington gardens, there is memorial of Prince Albert, husband of queen Victoria, that has statues representing dominions of British empire. The group of statues representing Asia has India in it.
लंडन, ब्रिटेनः केंन्सिंगटन बाग में रायल एल्बर्ट हाल के सामने रानी विक्टोरिया के पति राजकुमार एल्बर्ट का स्मारक बना है जिसके चार कोनों पर ब्रिटिश साम्राज्य को दर्शाने वाली मूर्तियाँ बनी हैं. उनमें से एशिया महाद्वीप में ब्रिटिश साम्राज्य के देशों में भारत भी है.

शिल्प निसंदेह सुन्दर है, अपनी गुलामी का प्रतिक है इसलिए मन को प्रसन्न तो नहीं करता.
ReplyDeleteलगता है शिल्प में टूट-फूट हुई है और फिर से टूते हिस्से को बनाया गया है.
यहाँ बस यूँ ही होगा वैसे बैठा हुआ हाथी हार का प्रतिक होता है.
यह सच है कि शिल्प 1861 में बना और भारत की गुलामी के समय को दिखाता है. पर आज भारत को आज़ाद हुए 63 साल हो गये, मुझे लगता है कि इतिहास तो इतिहास है, उसे बदल नहीं सकते पर उसे अपने आत्मविश्वास से स्वीकार कर सकते हैं, उसके अच्छे बुरे पर बहस कर सकते हैं.
