Reflections - प्रतिबिम्ब

Bibione, Italy: Concentrating at the reflections in still water gives me a strange feeling. The clouds floating on its surface and the poles growing deep into water make me feel giddy.

Chinese philosopher Lao Tze had once written, "Am I a man who dreamt of being a butterfly or am I a butterfly who is dreaming of being a man". It is that kind of feeling, that also comes from looking at pictures of Salvador Dali.

Reality and illusion, they seem to merge in the play of Maya, the world of illusion. Todays pictures share that feeling.

बिबियोने, उत्तरी इटलीः कृत्या पर केहरी सिंह मधुकर की कविता पढ़ी है, जिसमे में वह स्वयं से पूछते हैं, "यह कौन झाँकता शीशे में? किसका है प्रतिबिम्ब?"

शीशे के प्रतिबिम्ब से नहीं, पर स्थिर जल में उभरते प्रतिबिम्बों से अक्सर मुझे लगता है कि यथार्थ और कल्पना की सीमा मिट सी जाती है.

चीनी विचारक लाओ त्से ने प्रश्न किया था, "मैं मानव हूँ जिसने तितली होने का सपना देखा था, या तितली हूँ जो मानव होने का सपना देख रही है ?" पढ़ कर सोचूँ तो वैसी ही अनुभूती होती है, यथार्थ और कल्पना की सीमा के मिटने की, और थोड़ा सा सिर घूमने लगता है.

वैसी ही अनुभूती जो स्पेनिश चित्रकार सालवाडोर दाली के अतियथार्थ शैली के चित्रों से होती है.
