Threads of affection - Fili d'affetto - मोह के धागे

Guwahati, Assam, India: Today's subject has those threads of affection that bind families, siblings and friends. When these threads break or tie up in knots, we feel the most hurt.

I have decided to stop updating this blog. It was started in 2005. It has around 2000 posts and lots of pictures. It has introduced me to some good friends and given me creative satisfaction. For all these years, selecting the pictures for this blog has been the first thing I have done after waking up. However, I no longer enjoy selecting the pictures. That is why I am suspending it. Thanks to all the readers and appreciators.

गुवाहाटी, असम, भारतः आज की तस्वीरों का विषय वह मोह के धागे हैं जो परिवारों को, भाई बहनों को, मित्रों को, बाँधते हैं. इन धागों की गाँठें हीं दिल में सबसे गहरी चुभती हैं.

मैंने इस ब्लाग से छुट्टी लेने की सोची है. यह ब्लाग 2005 में शुरु किया था, इसमें करीब 2000 पोस्ट और बहुत सी तस्वीरे हैं. इसके माध्यम से मुझे कुछ मित्र भी मिले हैं, और कलात्मक संतुष्टी भी. इन सालों में सुबह सुबह उठ कर मेरे दिन इसके लिए तस्वीरें चुनने से शुरु होते रहे हैं. पर आजकल तस्वीरें चुनने का मन नहीं करता. इसलिए ले रहाँ हूँ छुट्टी. ब्लाग के पाठकों-प्रशंसकों को धन्यवाद.

Ho deciso di non aggiornare più questo blog. L'avevo iniziato nel 2005 e in questi tredici anni, ho scritto 2000 post e ha tante foto. Tramite questo blog ho trovato alcuni buoni amici e mi ha dato soddisfazione creativa. In tutti questi anni, spesso le mie mattine hanno iniziato con la selezione delle foto da inserire nel blog. Ma ultimamente la scelta delle foto non mi dà il piacere come prima. Per questo ho deciso la sospensione. Un grazie a tutti i lettori e apprezzatori!

Kamdhenu cow - Mucca Kamdhenu - कामधेनू गाय

Guwahati, Assam, India: Kamdhenu cows from the old Shukreshwar temple situated on the banks of Brahmaputra river. According to the mythology, whatever you will ask from her you will get, because she is the wish-fulfilling cow.

Guwahati, Assam, India: Near the temple entrance there are shops selling things used for prayer rituals such as flowers, coconut and incense for offerings and red ribbons to tie on the devotees' foreheads.

Bihu again - Bihu di nuovo - फ़िर से बिहू

Assam, India: Girls dancing Bihu assume a specific pose in which the upper part of the body is bent slightly forward and hands are kept on the back. Today's images have that pose. Tomorrow Assam will celebrate Bihu. Best wishes for Bihu to all my Assamese friends.

River bank - Riva del fiume - नदी किनारे

Kamrup district, Assam, India: At Mazgumi you can get a boat for going to the 20-25 inhabited islands in Brahmaputra river. Life on the islands is tough as the state services like electricity and health care are not available there. Every year during the rainy seasons, they get flooded. Today's images have the river bank at Mazgumi.

Brahmaputra's son - Figlio di Brahmaputra - ब्रह्मपुत्र का पुत्र

Assam, India: We had gone to that island in the river Brahmaputra with a boat clinic. He had just come out of the river, mud coating his face and chest. Why did you cover yourself with mud, I asked him many times, but he did not answer.

असम, भारतः हम लोग ब्रह्मपुत्र नदी के उस द्वीप पर एक नाव क्लिनिक के साथ गये थे. वह तभी नदी से निकल रहा था, मुँह तथा छाती मिट्टी से लिपे हुए थे. क्यों लगायी इस तरह से मिट्टी, मैंने कई बार पूछा पर उसने उत्तर नहीं दिया.
