(Updated in February 2017)
Hello, I am Sunil, a doctor from India. After three decades in Bologna (Italy), and then a year and half in Guwahati (Assam, India) now divide my time between India and Italy.
Apart from my work as researcher and trainer in the areas of disabilities, rehabilitation, community health and leprosy, I have many other interests (perhaps too many!) such as reading, writing, nature, archaeology, history, museums, art, culture, dance, music, cycling .. and photography!
My huge archive of pictures from around the world is open to all those who want to use them. You are welcome to take the images from this blog. If you need a picture in higher resolution, do write to me at: sunil.deepak(at)gmail.com
I also welcome any ideas of collaboration, especially from voluntary organisations.
For a long time (between 2005 till January 2016) this blog was my daily passion - every morning I searched for three pictures on a theme to add this blog. It has more than 2000 posts. Since 28 January 2016 I had stopped updating this blog for more than a year. Now it is updated occasionally.
Learn a language
This blog is trilingual - in Hindi, English and Italian. It is a way for me to keep alive my use of the three languages. Usually I do not simply do literal translation from one language to another but I try to "think" in the 3 languages! This means that there are differences in the way I express the same ideas in the three languages. Thus, if you know any of these three languages and wish to learn another, I hope that this blog can provide you with some useful exercises!
No Copyrights
I am all for open access and sharing. For this reason I never put my name or other "ownership" marks on the pictures. Feel free in using my pictures and if possible, I will be happy if you will give credit to me. If you use my pictures as part of a larger creative work, I will appreciate knowing about it.
Contacts
I am happy to share my pictures free of cost. If you want any of images in high resolution, you can write to me at sunil.deepak(at)gmail.com .
Thanks for your patience in reading all this. I hope you will like looking at the world through my eyes!

Deletevery impressive :) I simply love the way you translate your blog in three languages. You are an amazing photographer, because you chose to click the most simple looking people /objects around you. One gets to swing in the story you narrate through these pictures. Love your blog!
ReplyDeleteJiggyasa, I am very happy that you found my way of using pictures and telling stories/stimulating ideas through them. Thanks a lot also for taking the trouble to write to me, I appreciate it very much.
DeleteYou are such a great inspiration for bloggers n photographers. Despite being settled in Italy n traveled almost the whole world, finding your work in Hindi shows how close you are to mother land by heart... Hats off to you and your work...
ReplyDeleteThank you Meghana for your words of appreciation. It is the travel around the world that made me understand that people are proud of their mother tongues and not ashamed of knowing it or speaking it. While in India, I had always read books in Hindi, but somehow I had also grown feeling that speaking Hindi is backwards and speaking English is superior. So some years ago I made a conscious effort to rediscover Hindi.
DeleteExcellent work.
ReplyDeletePlease visit my blog "Unwarat.com." It is written in Hindi with many pictures related to the subject of the original story & article. You will definitely like it.
Thanks Vinod - I will take a look at your website-blog :)
