Rain - Pioggia - बारिश

Rome, Italy: When I reached the Spanish square, it was full of tourists and many persons were sitting on the stairs. In my mind, these stairs are inextricably linked to that scene of "Roman Holiday" in which Audrey Hepburn, as the princess who has run away from the palace, sits there to eat an ice cream. I had some work in an office there. After ten-fifteen minutes when I came out, I found that it was raining heavily and the steps were deserted. I found a shelter closeby to wait for the rain to stop. As the rain decreased, tourists came out to occupy the steps once again.

रोम, इटलीः स्पेन स्क्वायर के पास पहुँचा तो देखा कि सारी जगह पर्टयकों से भरी थी, बहुत से लोग सीढ़ियों पर बैठे थे. यह सीढ़ियाँ मेरे जहन में "रोमन हालिडे" फ़िल्म के उस दृश्य से जुड़ी हैं जिसमें राजमहल से भागी हुई राजकुमारी की भूमिका में ओड्रे हेपबर्न यहाँ बैठ कर आईसक्रीम खाती हैं. वहीं करीब एक दफ्तर में थोड़ा काम था, दस पंद्रह मिनट बाद बाहर निकला तो पाया कि तेज बारिश आ रही थी और सीढ़ियाँ सुनसान हो गयी थीं. मैं वहीं रुक कर बारिश के थमने की प्रतीक्षा करने लगा. जैसे ही बारिश कम हुई, आसपास से पर्यटक निकल आये और सीढ़ियाँ फ़िर से लोगों से भरने लगीं.

Roma, Italia: Quando ho raggiunto la Piazza di Spagna, era pieno di turisti e molte persone erano sedute sulle scale. Per me, queste scale sono inesorabilmente collegate alla scena del film "Vacanze Romane" dove Audrey Hepburn, nel ruolo della principessa scappata dal palazzo, si siede là per mangiare un gelato. Avevo una commissione da fare in un ufficio vicino e quando sono uscito dopo dieci-quindici minuti, ho trovato che pioveva forte e le scale erano deserte. Ho cercato un riparo per aspettare che la pioggia fermasse. Quando la pioggia è diminuita, i turisti sono usciti subito per occupare di nuovo le scale.
