Cape Town, South Africa: "Old fever hospital" was built in 1902 when there was an epidemic of bubonic plague in the city. Today it hosts a museum of old medical equipments. On seeing the museum, my first thought was about the inequalities in our world - the kind of comforts and services that were available a hundred years ago in rich socieites, are still not available to the poor persons in countries like India. The part of the museum that I liked most was where they have plaster models of human body for teaching human anatomy to children.

DeleteThe museum building is gorgeous—what a beautiful orange !
ReplyDeleteThanks Sudha. Actually there is a colour revolution in many parts of India, the houses are painted in such bright colours. I don't know if it is true everywhere but travelling in Karnataka, I was greately struck by it! :)
