Boulder, South Africa: On the south east coast, near Simon Town, there is small locality called Boulder, which has a coloney of African Penguins (Spenhiscus demersus) amidst round smooth rocks, for which tourists come from all over. This is also a bio-diversity protection park and they are trying to bring back the local native plant species, that had been replaced by plants brought from Australia and other places. Nature has developed different plant and animal species in different parts of the world over millions of years, which are inter-connected through ecosystems. That bio-diversity is under threat due to plants and animals brought from other places and due to man-made new species (Genetically modified organisms - GMOs).

  1. I have never seen penguins, either in their natural habitat or in zooz. And each time I see a picture or read about them, I wonder when it will be my turn !

    1. I had seen penguins many times in the zoos, like in Europe& USA, but somehow I associated pengins with cold and snow. Seeing them in South Africa was completely different.

Even London zoo had the penguins, didn't you see them there? :)
