Konark, Odisha, India: Does culture depends upon university studies or it comes from urban living? When I think of the rural pilgrims at the Sun temple in Konark and its statues with explicit depiction of sex, I ask myself what do those pilgrims think about those sculptures? These are our prejudices that make us categorise people in slots and do not let us appreciate them as persons?

Puri, Odisha, India: Yesterday while reading news about the cyclone on the Odisha and Andhra Pradesh coast, I thought of my journey to Odisha a few years ago. How many lives must have been destroyed by this disaster!

Orissa, India: Today's images are about different gestures of Buddha statues in the Dhaulagiri Buddha temple. In the first image his right hand touches the earth and is called "Bhumisparsha", while his left hand is in "Dhyana" meditation gesture, together this pose symbolises "Sanyama" self-control over the negative feelings. The raised hand in the second image is called "Abhaya" and signifies freedom from fear. The third statue shows him with inter-linked circles made from thumbs and index fingers of two hands, explaining the circles of dharma and is called "Dharmachakra".

Konark, Odisha, India: It is an old question that many others have asked before me - how did it happen that in India that prays at the temples of Konark and Khujaraho, in daily life people get so upset if a woman and a man express even a little amount of love in public? Today's images have pilgrims from the sun temple of Konark, that shows the path from physical love to spiritual love.
