Thiene, Italy: "Are you wearing Fr Leopoldo's chain?", my wife had asked me yesterday. Perhaps she had thought that I had stopped wearing that chain after going back to India. It was given to me shortly after our marriage with the recommendation to wear it always so that it could protect me. Fr Leopoldo is my wife's family saint. In case of any problem, he is remembered. Even if I do not believe in such things, I have always worn that chain. I feel as if he is my father-in-law. A couple of times when I had an accident and escaped with minor injuries, I was told that it was because of Fr Leopoldo. Today's images have this saint.

  1. Interesting. The Catholic Church started beatifying people as saints in order to give local relevance to the Church in a time when non-Christian religions had local gods and goddesses.

    1. Tom, I feel that human beings are all same and some of us need that kind of support so we find a way to get that, the name of the specific religion does not matter! :)
